우리는 보통 새해가 되면 새해 계획을 세웁니다. 영어로는 New Year's resolution 이라고 하죠.
그런데 계획을 세우면서 '작심삼일'이라는 말을 합니다.
마음먹고 실천하는데 삼일동안만 한다는 뜻으로 결심이 오래 실천되지 못하는 것을 이야기합니다.
어떻게 작심삼일을 극복할 수 있을까요?

작심삼일 : Three days of resolutions, Three days of determination or Three days of practice?
This means that your New Year's resolution will only last for three days.
우리는 어떤 습관을 만들때 시간이 필요하다.
그리고 인내가 필요하다.
작심삼일이 되는 이유는 지키기 어려운 일이기 때문이다.
어쩌면 당연한 것일지도 모른다.
작심삼일에 끝나지 않으려면 어떻게 해야할까.
내가 할 수 있는 일을 시작해야한다.
내가 좋아하는 일, 그래서 계속 할 수 있는 일을 말이다.
그리고 스스로 성취하게 되면 좀더 자심있게 자신의 일을 할 수 있다.
스스로를 신뢰할 수 있는 것이다.
그렇지만 여전히 쉽지 않다.
작심삼일이 되지 않았던 일들을 생각해보자.
좋아서 했던 일이다.
의미가 있던 일이다.
그 일이 중요한 일이고 의미있는 일이라면 작심삼일을 걱정하지 않아도 된다.
자신이 하는 일에 의미를 발견하게 된다면 그 일은 지속가능하다.
어떤 일부터 시작하고 싶은가?
쉽게 할 수 있는 일이든 좋아하는 일이든 여러분 삶에 의미를 부여하는 일로 시작해보자.
그럼 그것이 습관이 되어질 것이다.
감사하게 될 일을 찾아보자.
나만 좋은 것이 아니라 누군가 그 일로 인해 도움을 받게 될 것이다.
우리의 삶은 그래서 의미있는 삶이 된다.
